About the job
In your future position, you will actively participate in a research project on multiple sclerosis (MS), where you will be responsible for bioinformatic analyses aimed at identifying biomarkers for disease progression and treatment response. The position also includes manuscript writing.
About you
We are looking for you who have a master's degree in bioinformatics, computer science, computational biology, or a related field.
We want you to have:
- Documented good knowledge of programming, especially in Python.
- Experience in analyzing large-scale biological data, such as proteomics, metabolomics, or other omics data types. Knowledge of statistical analysis (especially predictive models), machine learning, and visualization of complex data.
- An analytical ability, curiosity, problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate in interdisciplinary teams.
- A master's degree in bioinformatics, computer science, computational biology, or a related field.
- The position requires very good knowledge of English, both spoken and written.
It is meritorious if you have:
- The ability to communicate and explain complex bioinformatic research results within interdisciplinary teams.
- Experience working in a laboratory environment or close collaboration with experimental researchers (e.g., molecular biology) and research in autoimmune diseases, especially multiple sclerosis, and understanding of relevant clinical factors and pathological mechanisms.
- Basic knowledge of spoken Swedish.
Your workplace
You will work at the Department of Molecular Medicine and Virology (https://liu.se/organisation/liu/bkv/mmv (https://liu.se/organisation/liu/bkv/mmv)) in Sofia Nyström's research group. The department conducts molecular and cellular research within cancer, inflammatory diseases, and infections. The research group's focus is mapping mechanisms leading to immune activation in inflammatory diseases and identifying biomarkers in multiple sclerosis.

About the employment
Fixed-term employment for 4 months with a start date as agreed, with a workload of 100%.
